Domodedovo International Airport (DME) which serves Moscow located 22 miles south of the city now gets new WiFi network. The Moscow airport WiFi network uses 60 access nodes that will provide wireless Internet coverage for all of the passenger terminals according to Golden Telecom, the Russian airport WiFi service provider.

Along with allowing airport customers to access the WiFi network from their WiFi enable devices there will also be 2 WiFi café at the airport with 12 terminals connected to Domodedovo airport’s WiFi network.

The cost for a WiFi Internet access for Domodedovo International Airport will be RUB100 for one hour with the connection speed of up to 54Mb/s. In term of U.S. dollar, one hour of WiFi access at this Russian airport would be around $4.05 at the current exchange rate. At that fee it is a pretty good deal comparing to the $7-$9 per hour WiFi access rate that we are seeing at major U.S. airport.

I haven’t been to Russia just yet but I can totally see myself surfing the web away from the airport terminal just to say that I have surfed the web from Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport!
